Two large-scale maps provide an overview of the site, and are keyed to discussions of the major monuments. The guide begins with a history of Corinth and its excavations, and continues with a tour inside the fenced area of the site, from the Temple of Apollo to the Bema to the Fountain of Peirene and more. The final section describes the monuments outside the fenced area, including the Odeion, the Theater, and the Asklepieion. Short bibliographic notes lead the reader to fuller descriptions of monuments, objects, and concepts. Interspersed between descriptions of the monuments are topographical notes and discussions of special topics such as the geology of the area, Pausanias’s description of the city, St. Paul’s visits, and prehistoric Corinth and the Corinthia.
